9 months old!!!

Last Thurs. Reed turned 9 months old. He is getting to be such a big boy. Yesterday I took him to the doctor for his 9 month check-up. He weighed 25 lbs. and 8 oz. and was 30 1/2 in. long. He is still in the 97% for his height and weight. I was reading the list the doctor gave me that tells you what the average baby should start doing between 9-12 months and he is already doing all of it. He has been pulling himself up and walking assisted for the past couple of months. In fact on Sunday evening he took his first step. Now it's only a matter of time when I'll have to start chasing him around the house. I can see him now, I'll be chasing him while he is looking back at me and giggling like crazy. I have also started to try weaning him off of his bottle but he thinks his sippie cup is a drum stick. But my sister told me today that it could take him a while to make the transition. Reed has learned so much in the past 9 months I can't wait to see what he is going to learn by the time he is 1.

this is Reed's favorite thing to do while I am cooking
look at me I can stand without holding onto anything (at least for a sec. anyway)!
Reed kept trying to crawl into his toy basket yesterday so Graham just put him in it and put a couple of his toys in there with him

Mother's Day Weekend

Yesterday was my first mother's day. And instead of just taking one day to celebrate it, my sister and I decided that we needed two days. Sat. we went out for pedicures and went shopping while the daddy's stayed at home and watched the kids. Then on Sun. we spent it with our family. Graham was so sweet, he tried to pamper me all day. He started out by making me breakfast which he had planned on serving me in bed, but I can never sleep past 7:00 any more. Then I relaxed for most of the morning while he took care of Reed. After Reed got up from his nap we went shopping. Then later that evening he took me out to eat to Mimi's. Graham and Reed also got me a wonderful mother's day gift. It is a charm bracelet with a heart charm with my initials engraved on it and also a boys head (kinda of like the pictures that are the silhouettes of the little boy's and girl's heads) that has Reed's initials and date of birth engraved on it. I feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful husband and son.

Another First!!

Yesterday my sister and I took her son Daniel, her twins Zach and Katie, and Reed to Chuck-E-Cheese. This was the first time Reed had every been to a place like this and I was a little worried that he might get over stimulated but he actually had a blast. He rode on the little cars that move and they had a little ride there that is like a one person ferris wheel that faces forward instead of sideways that he rode and had a blast. Reed also got to play a game. It was the one that had sharks popping up out of holes and you hit them on the head and to my amazement he actually hit some of them. I have had so much fun taking Reed places for the first time. It is just so neat to watch him try to learn and figure stuff out. I took a couple of pics while we were there. My favorite is the one of him riding Clifford the Big Red Dog.

weekend with family

This past Fri. Graham's mom and stepdad came to visit us. The reason for their visit of course was to come and see us and Reed and also to help us install some new floors. Sat. and Sun. Graham and Ron put down pergo flooring in the entry hallway, the kitchen, and the dining room. I am so excited to have finally got rid of that nasty carpet. My new floors look great. On Thurs. evening Graham and I also painted our dining room. We are slowly but surely sprucing up our house.
