Reed's first vacation

Sorry that I was not able to post anything while we were on vacation but we stayed so busy. We have been back home since Sat. evening and have gotten Reed back on his regular schedule. We had so much fun it was a very much needed break. On Mon. we traveled to New Hampshire to visit with Graham's grandparents from Canada and to also visit with some friends. Then on Wed. we took Reed to the Zooquarium (aquarium and petting zoo) were he got to feed some deer, ride a pony, and see all sorts of interesting things. Thur. we took him to the beach for the second time (the first time was on sunday). Graham and I dug a hole in the sand and filled it up with water to let him sit in and play, where he discovered seashells. He didn't try to eat the sand but he did keep trying to eat the seashells. Then on Friday we said our goodbyes to everyone on the Cape and headed to go see my mom in Rhode Island. Fri. evening my mom took us to some really neat stores where I discovered some really cool shoes that I am going to buy for Reed. The shoes have a squeaker in the heels so that every time they walk they squeak. I know this sounds annoying but it is supposed to encourage them to walk and if the squeaking gets on your nerves you can actually take the squeaker out. On Saturday we flew back home. The flight wasn't to bad except for the part when our second flight got delayed by 1 1/2 hrs. due to bad weather. But once we got home everything was fine. We hated to leave but we our happy to be back home, especially to be able to sleep in our own bed.

Vacation

Yesterday Graham, Reed, and I traveled to Cape Cod to spend time with family. We were going to drive but decided it was smarter to fly having Reed with us. Reed did really well flying and of course all of the flight attendents gave him so much attention. I haven't had the chance to take any pictures yet because we are getting ready for my sister-in-law Alida's graduation party. Tomorrow we plan on taking Reed to the beach for the first time, hopefully he won't be like his daddy and eat a whole bunch of sand.

mommy's little stinker!!!

Ever since Reed hit the 9 month mark he has been starting to act more like a toddler and by that I mean he's is starting to get into everything. A couple of weeks ago I caught him standing in his chair trying to reach the remote that was sitting on our end table next to the couch. When I called out his name he just turned around and looked at me and gave me this little grin like what I'm not doing anything. Then the next day he was in his jumperoo and his toy basket was sitting next to him so he grabbed it and put it over his head. Then a couple of days later I was in the bonus room doing something on the computer and I had brought him in there with me. He was playing with his toys then it just got quiet. I look over to where he was and apparently his ball that he was playing with rolled under the papasian and he was under there trying to get it. It was pretty funny especially considering he kept laughing at me while he was under there. Then yesterday Reed was in his play yard while I was folding laundry, because a silly baby can't resist grabbing a pile of freshly folded clothes that are sitting on the coffee table and throwing them into the floor. So while he was in there he preceded to try and throw all of his toys on the outside of the play yard. Most parents probably wouldn't have found this amusing but I thought is was pretty funny, especially when he would try to throw a toy and he would end up dropping it behind him. One of his other favorite things to do now is to take one of his toys and bang on the window with it. When he would do this we would try to tell him no but he would just look at us and laugh so we found it much easier to just take away the toy. One day Graham took about 3 toys away from him then he grabbed a stuff animal and tried using it to bang on the window. When he discovered that it didn't make any noise he had this look on his face that was priceless. Graham and I laughed for a good couple of mins at that one. A couple of days ago Reed learned to do something else. He was over by his jumperoo and I looked over at him to make sure he wasn't getting into anything and that's when I saw him doing something pretty funny. He was standing on his head looking through his legs. Then today, when I thought that he couldn't possibly do anything else, I had set him in the hallway so I could get something out of the bathroom. I had only turned my back on him for a sec. and when I looked back he wasn't there. He had started to crawl up the stairs. He ended up crawling all the way up the stairs, of course I was right behind him the whole way so he wouldn't fall. I miss Reed being an infant but I love the age he is at now. He is always wanting to explore new things and if we don't let him he usually finds a way to do it.
peek-a-boo (Reed under the papasian)
you can't get me!! (Graham chasing Reed up the steps)
I didn't do it!
I'm too cute to get mad at!
Just gettin a little exercise.

Memorial Day Weekend

I know that this is really late but Iwas downloading pics from my camera today and I came across some pics that I had forgotten that I took. Memorial Day weekend we had some friends over to cookout and play some cards. Our friends Melissa and Mark were able to bring their new baby Will over. I was able to take some pics of them and they turned out really cute so I wanted to share them with everyone.
