This past Saturday we took Reed to see the Roper Mountain Christmas Lights. He was totally silent the whole way through except for the occasional ohs and ahs!
Yesterday Graham and I took Reed to go see the Wiggles. For those of you who don't know who the Wiggles are, they are a kids band that started in Australia and ended up with their own show on Disney.
Tuesday night we took Reed up to Graham's work for their annual trick or treating event. This was his 2nd year doing it but this year he actually knew what was going on. He was very well behaved but just like any other child he wanted to take as much candy as he could. You can't really tell in the pics but he was dressed up as a dinosaur. It was a little hot in the building so he didn't want to wear the hood.
This week has been a pretty rough week for Graham and I. First we had to give up Sebastian and know a friend of ours has passed away. Some of y'all may have read a blog that I posted late last year about a friend of ours, Shane Powell, that was involved in a motorcycle accident last September. Well after fighting for his life for 11 months the battle ended on Tuesday evening. This is a very sad time for his family and friends but we have all found peace knowing that he is now with God. They are holding a memorial for him on Fri. from 6-8:30 at Thomas Macafee funeral Home in downtown Greenville and the funeral will be at Roper Mountain Baptist Church on Sat. at 2:00. If you would please keep Shane's family and friends in your prayers during this trying time.
This morning Graham and I did one of the hardest things that we have ever had to do. As just about everyone knows Sebastian has not been getting along with Reed for almost a year now. It wasn't that big of a problem at first because we figured that he would eventually get over it. Well that never happened. In fact it has gotten worse. It got to the point where Sebastian was spending almost the whole day in his crate. Last weekend Graham and I finally talk about finding a new place for Sebastian to live. Unfortunately we did not know anybody that wanted to take him. I did a little research on the Internet and found a wonderful animal rescue place called Loving Home Animal Rescue. We took him to the rescue this morning. It was a very sad time for me and Graham because we have had Sebastian since he was 7 weeks old. He is 6 years old now and still has many years to go and we just want him to be happy and in a home where he can get the attention that he needs. It will take us a while to get over this day but knowing that he is going to be much happier helps out. As for now we are hanging onto all the good memories we have of him.

Two weeks ago Graham's little sister Alida and her boyfriend Jose(spanish name but I don't know how to put the mark over the e) came down to Greenville to spend the weekend with us. We had so much fun! While they were here we were able to catch a Red Sox game down in Atlanta. Even though we were all cheering for the Red Sox I couldn't help being excited when my favorite player, Chipper Jones, hit a home run.
(sorry for the lateness on the post I have been a slacker lately when it comes to my blog)
This Father's Day will definitely be one that we will never forget! It all started out with Reed waking up at about 1 am on sunday crying. Graham and I both spent about 2 hours trying to comfort him. Once we got him to calm down I noticed that he had broke out in hives all over his body. The only thing that we could think of was that he was allergic to Febreeze, which I had sprayed in his room the day before. We ended up putting him in our room in the pack-n-play for the rest of the night. Of course I really didn't go back to sleep because I was so worried about him. In the morning he seemed to be doing better we made Graham all his favorite breakfast foods and gave him his presents. When it was time to go over to my grandmother's house we started to get Reed dressed but apparently he was not happy about it. He ended up getting so worked up that he got sick all over himself and me. We noticed that as the day went on that you could tell that Reed's sinuses were bothering him. Oh yeah and the dog got sick later that day too! All in all Graham had a very good day. He told me he has one request for next Father's day. That it be puke free!!!
Sorry no pics Graham and I were both to tired to remember to take any.
We have been back home for almost a week now and things are finally getting back to normal. Poor Graham took a week off of work but was so exhausted after the trip that he needs to take another week off. We all had a ton of fun and also did a lot of walking. Even though we were there for 7 days we were not able to do everything. Which is kind of cool because that means next time we go back there will be plenty of new stuff to do. Reed of course got a ton of souvenirs. Here is a slide show of some of the pics I took while we were down there. Some of them are repeats but there are some new ones.
On Tuesday we all headed to Disney's Hollywood Studios. When we got there we headed over to the Hollywood and Vine restaurant to eat breakfast with some of the playhouse disney characters.
Leo from the Little Einsteins
June from the Little Einsteins
After breakfast we headed over to watch the playhouse disney stage production. Reed sat still during the entire production except when they asked the kids to get up and dance.
Handy Manny and his tools
Mickey and the host of the show
After playhouse disney we rode several rides and got to meet some characters.
On Sunday after we checked into the hotel we headed to the Magic Kingdom to eat dinner. After dinner we went to the Haunted Mansion and rode on its a small world. We then headed to see the fireworks in front of Cinderella's castle.

On Monday we went back to the Magic Kingdom. We got there before the park opened and got to watch the big production that they do to officially open the park. We didn't get to ride as many rides as we would have like to because it was pretty busy. In the morning we rode the Walt Disney Railroad, the tommorrowland Speedway, the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, the teacups, and we also went to Toon Town where Reed got to see Minnie and Mickey's house.
After lunch Graham and Reed headed back to the room for a nap and Chris, Jordan, and I stayed at the park. We got to ride splash mountain and big thunder mountain railroad. For dinner we went back to the park and ate at Tony's Tavern which is the Italian Restaurant from Lady and the Tramp. While waiting to eat Reed and Jordan got to meet Pluto and Chip and Dale.
After dinner we got to watch the Spectro Magic Parade
Day 1&2: Saturday me, Graham, Reed, and my nephews Chris(14) and Jordan(12) started our vacation. We got on the road about 6:00 a.m. heading to Vero Beach, Fl. We were in the car until 4:00 p.m. Normally we would have never thought about taking this long of a trip with Reed but we invested in the best invention ever made for the car, a DVD player. That evening we stayed with Bill and Millie who are Amy's ( Graham's stepmom) parents. On Sunday morning we were able to go to the beach which was only a short walk from where we were staying.

Loving Brothers
After lunch we all loaded back into the car and headed towards Disney World. We arrived at about 4:00 p.m.
Last Friday Reed and I went over to my sister's house so he could play with his cousins. I ended up staying there for a while to help her out with some things. During that time Reed needed to lay down and take a nap but I forgot his pack-n-play. Brandy's youngest son Zach is still sleeping in a toddler bed so I decided to see if Reed would take his nap there. We had to put him back in the bed a couple of times but he eventually fell asleep. When we got home that evening I told Graham that there was no sense in putting him back into his crib to sleep so we took the side off of his crib. We put up a bed rail so he wouldn't fall out of the bed, but he can still get out of the bed by himself. At first I was kind of sad because he is getting older but at the same time I was happy.
